Job Description
This position involves applying material chemistry knowledge to design & develop aerogel formulations and optimise our proprietary fabrication process for commercial thermal insulation application in paints, coating and composites for cold-chain packaging, industrial and construction industry.

Job Description
This position involves applying material chemistry knowledge to design & develop aerogel formulations and optimise our proprietary fabrication process for commercial thermal insulation application in paints, coating and composites for cold-chain packaging, industrial and construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop novel aerogel composite formulations and improve early-stage prototypes using our proprietary processes.
- Lead product development cycles: plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and translate findings into commercial solutions.
- Collaborate with customers in pilot trials and adapt products to meet technical specifications.
- Source, evaluate, and qualify raw materials and processing equipment.
- Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring safety, organization, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Establish and refine R&D workflows, protocols, and testing methodologies.
- Track emerging science and patents, contribute to IP strategy, and generate new ideas with the leadership team.
- Prepare technical updates and presentations for customers, R&D partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and interns.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Proven track record in aerogels, composites, polymers, coatings, or advanced materials.
- Strong foundation in surfactant chemistry, polymer science, rheology, gel/formulation chemistry.
- Passion for innovation, scientific creativity, and problem-solving.
- Comfortable navigating scientific literature, patents, and commercialization opportunities.
- Thrives in startup environments: fast-paced, high-impact, and constantly evolving.
- Ambitious, curious, and confident in making decisions amidst uncertainty.
