We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
Job Description
A Research Assistant Position in the group of Dr Ahmet Avsar at Material Science and Engineering Department of National University of Singapore is available to experimentally study the spin transport properties of two-dimensional semiconductors.
The research involves advanced nanofabrication in state-of-the-art research facilities. It also includes data analysis, and physical interpretation of the results using simulation tools. More specifically, the transport of spin current in a 2D semiconductor which is proximitized with a high spin orbit coupling material. The research assistant will investigate the spin-anisotropy effect. For more information about the projects and job description, please contact Dr Avsar (aavsar@nus.edu.sg).
Our NRF and MOE supported group has a ~ 100 m2 lab space with a full access to a clean room facility at the Graphene Research Centre (CA2DM) dedicated to 2D device physics and three cryofree low temperature high magnetic field measurement facility (magnetic fields up to 12T and base temperatures down to 250 mK).
Qualifications
A BSc in experimental physics or engineering is required. Enthusiasm for research, ability to think and work independently, willingness to pursue PhD in our group, analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are main requirements.
Interested candidates only with a background in spin transport and 2D heterostructure fabrication will be considered.
