SAMH Creative Services is seeking a passionate and committed Music Therapist to join our team. This unique role combines direct clinical work with project leadership, offering opportunities to design and deliver impactful music therapy services while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of creative arts therapists and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Excellence

• Deliver individual & group music therapy using evidence-based approaches

• Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans

• Work with diverse populations across age and cultural backgrounds

Project Leadership & Mass Engagement

• Lead creative initiatives and pilot projects from concept to completion

• Facilitate corporate talks, workshops, and large-scale community events

• Design engaging presentations for diverse audiences

• Collaborate with art therapists and dance/movement therapists in implementing creative engagements for the public

• Manage timelines, resources, and impact evaluation

Team Building & Advocacy

• Advocate for music therapy through presentations and research

• Support knowledge sharing across disciplines

Educational/ professional qualifications

• Masters in Music Therapy from an accredited institution.

• Certification or registration with a recognized Music Therapy board or association (e.g., RMT, MT-BC, HCPC).

• Demonstrated experience in facilitating music therapy in mental health, trauma-informed, or community-based settings.

• Strong musical proficiency (e.g., guitar, piano, voice, percussion) and creative adaptability.

• Proven ability to manage projects, track progress, and communicate across teams.

• Knowledge of participatory, culturally responsive, and inclusive practice models.

Special knowledge, skills, language, etc.

• Adobe Creative Suite

• Microsoft Suite

• Able to converse in dialects and mandarin is preferred.

• Corporate workshop/training and public speaking experience

• Experience facilitating large group workshops and presentations

• Experience leading or contributing to community-based mental health projects and programmes.

• Confidence in capacity-building, coaching, or peer learning roles.

• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks or community impact reporting.

• Multidisciplinary team collaboration experience
