We are looking for a Research Fellow to contribute to a new research project on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct research on AI-mediated communication in emotional and mental health contexts.
• Design, develop, and evaluate interactive systems or interventions that promote positive socio-emotional outcomes.
• Publish and present research in top-tier HCI and communication journals and conferences, and contribute to open resources or toolkits for academic and public audiences.
• Mentor and collaborate with students and interdisciplinary team members, and build partnerships with external stakeholders such as community organisations or industry.
• Support lab development, including organising research activities, managing projects, and contributing to grant proposals.

Job Requirements:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (completed or near completion) in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Communication, Computer Science, Information Science, Psychology, or a related field.
• Proven track record with publications in reputable journals and conference proceedings in Communication and HCI.
• Proficiency in quantitative/statistical analysis and computational techniques (e.g., NLP, data mining).
• Experience conducting mixed-method research.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
