‍ Role Overview - Junior Sous Chef

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in leading the kitchen team. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality Italian-inspired dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and fostering a collaborative kitchen culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and ingredient selection.
  • Prepare and cook Italian dishes, ensuring top-tier presentation and taste.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, offering guidance and feedback.
  • Oversee kitchen operations during shifts, maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support ordering/stock control.
  • Handle special requests or concerns with professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Cook or Chef, ideally in Italian cuisine.
  • Culinary training or certifications (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques & food safety.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, passionate about food, and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
