Overview: We're looking for a Facilities Manager who sees beyond "operations" to imagine how a venue itself can be part of the experience. You'll ensure our spaces run seamlessly, but also set the standard for what a world-class creative hub should feel like: safe, sustainable, and effortlessly inspiring. This is more than managing a building - it's about shaping the environment that powers IMBA's bold ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Operations & Maintenance
  • Oversee daily venue operations, including utilities, HVAC, lighting, security, and cleanliness.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for theatre equipment and building systems.
  • Ensure timely response to breakdowns, repairs, and safety hazards.
  • Manage asset inventory and equipment lifecycle (e.g. AV systems, seating, staging).

Venue Readiness & Event Support
  • Coordinate facilities setup and teardown for performances, exhibitions, and external bookings.
  • Ensure backstage, front-of-house, and visitor areas meet operational standards.
  • Support technical and production teams with facilities needs during events.

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore regulations (BCA, SCDF, MOM) relating to workplace and public safety.
  • Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments (fire safety, emergency exits, accessibility).
  • Maintain WSH documentation, safety audits, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate emergency response drills and procedures.

Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Source, negotiate, and manage external vendors for cleaning, security, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Review and track service contracts, ensuring cost efficiency and SLA adherence.
  • Manage contractors' compliance with safety protocols while on-site.

Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Prepare and manage the annual facilities budget (maintenance, utilities, contractors).
  • Track and report on cost efficiency, ensuring alignment with IMBA's startup-stage resource discipline.
  • Identify opportunities for sustainability and energy savings.

Strategic Facilities Planning
  • Work with IMBA leadership on space optimisation and future venue enhancements.
  • Support planning of renovations, refurbishments, and technical upgrades.
  • Develop SOPs for long-term facilities operations and scaling across future IMBA sites.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Strong knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and safety regulations.
  • Problem-solving and crisis management skills.
  • Vendor negotiation and contract management.
  • Budget management and cost efficiency mindset.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
