We are representing our client in the trading sector to hire for an Operations Officer (Metals desk).

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and verify shipping documents from suppliers, ensuring timely distribution to relevant parties and proper record-keeping.
• Coordinate payments to suppliers and track customer receivables, including credit line monitoring and escalation of potential issues.
• Maintain accurate transaction records in internal systems, process monthly closing entries, and provide documentation for profit/loss tracking.
• Act as a main contact for customers, suppliers, and shipping companies, ensuring deadlines are met and communications are clear and prompt.
• Assist in contract, dispatch, and demurrage-related matters to ensure smooth and timely settlements.

Requirements:

• Diploma or higher, with 1-3 years' experience in bulk shipment (preferably in metals or commodities).
• Familiarity with bulk logistics, Incoterms, Letters of Credit, UCP 600, and URC 522.
• Proficiency in Mandarin for communication with Chinese-speaking counterparts.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
