Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 5 GCE 'O' level credits
  • At least 2 years of experience in student care
  • Fluent in English or Mother Tongue, both written and spoken
  • Certificate in student care
  • Good Classroom Management Skills
  • Project Planning, Customer Service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Dedicated, reliable, creative, disciplined, and able to multi-task
  • A calling to work with children

Special Requirements for Special Needs Student Care Centers (SSCCs):
  • A Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Special Education, Disability, Psychology, or Autism, or
  • At least 2 years of on-the-job experience in EIPIC, SPED, or other disability services.

Purpose of the Job:
  • In the absence of the Center Supervisor, the Senior Teacher assumes leadership responsibilities, ensuring the seamless operation of the center and prioritizing the well-being of students. They cultivate a nurturing and stimulating environment that aligns with the organization's vision and mission, fostering the growth and development of each student.

Key Role/Job Function:
  • Foster a nurturing environment for students, providing guidance and support during after-school hours and holidays.
  • Design, coordinate, and implement programs aimed at fostering the holistic development of students, encompassing academic, social, emotional, and physical facets.
  • Maintain a vigilant focus on the safety, security, and welfare of all students under their care.
  • Serve as a positive role model, exemplifying professionalism, integrity, and empathy in interactions with students and colleagues alike.
  • Oversee and assess program effectiveness, offering constructive feedback to the Center Supervisor and Manager for continual improvement.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enact enhancements to the center's program, including initiatives to increase parental involvement and organize enriching experiences such as field trips and workshops.
  • Orientate new parents to the center's programs and policies, ensuring ongoing communication and engagement.
  • Maintain meticulous records, including enrollment data, student and staff information, and financial transactions, while adhering to regulatory requirements and confidentiality protocols.
  • Provide academic support to students, aiding them with homework assignments and enrichment activities.
  • Assist students in developing essential life skills, such as personal hygiene, mealtime routines, and social interactions.
  • Organize and lead recreational and holiday programs that stimulate creativity, engagement, and enjoyment.
  • Address disciplinary issues utilizing positive behavior support systems, fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
  • Coordinate and execute educational outings and activities that align with organizational objectives, promoting experiential learning and growth.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and volunteers, fostering collaboration and support within the center community.

Programme:
  • Supervise and assess the effectiveness of programs, offering valuable insights to center leadership.
  • Collaborate with center leadership to enhance the center's program, including strategies to engage parents and facilitate enriching experiences.
  • Publish center newsletters to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with staff and parents to promote a cohesive and supportive environment.

Staff:
  • Supervise, guide, and evaluate staff performance, providing necessary support and training opportunities.
  • Orientate new staff members and identify training needs for teachers.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to facilitate communication and cohesion.

Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and standards, prioritizing health, safety, and licensing requirements.
  • Liaise with government agencies on operational matters, fostering effective communication and compliance.
  • Maintain financial records with precision, overseeing budget preparation, monitoring expenditure, and authorizing purchases within designated limits.
