Description:

The lab of Dr. Sarah Luo (Principal Investigator, Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR) studies brain-organ neural circuits regulating appetite and metabolism. We are seeking a highly motivated Research/Laboratory Officer, who will provide technical support and assistance on neuroscience research projects, and administrative/logistical support in lab maintenance. The successful candidate will receive training in cutting-edge neuroscience techniques and mentorship.

Responsibilities:

• Perform wet lab experiments using techniques such as tissue sectioning, tissue clearing, fluorescent in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry and microscopy.
• Provide technical support for experiments using preclinical models, PCR and genotyping.
• Provide logistical support in lab inventory and maintenance.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• Experience with biomedical lab research and environment preferred.
• Willingness to work with mouse models; prior experience is a plus.
• Grasp of molecular biology techniques (PCR etc.) and experience with data analysis and statistics.
• Motivated and organized, with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
