Summary
As a Social Worker under the Outreach, Development and Mentorship (ODM) Department, you will work directly with children, youth, and ex-inmates from disadvantaged backgrounds. The ODM department supports beneficiaries through a range of developmental programmes, including sports, the arts, and academic support. Your role involves conducting intake and risk assessments, providing case management and mentoring, facilitating group-based activities, and collaborating with community partners. You will play a key role in addressing beneficiaries' psychosocial needs, supporting reintegration, and enabling long-term personal development.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct intake interviews and structured risk/needs assessments for new beneficiaries.
• Provide holistic case management and one-to-one mentoring to support reintegration, resilience, and personal growth.
• Deliver basic counselling and crisis intervention when necessary, guided by trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
• Maintain timely and accurate case documentation, and participate in case reviews and inter-agency case conferences.
• Facilitate group sessions and psychoeducational workshops that build social-emotional skills and peer learning.
• Support outreach and community events that promote service access and community trust.
• Build and sustain collaborative relationships with schools, agencies, and community partners for referrals and coordinated support.
• Uphold ethical social work practice, ensure client confidentiality, and comply with agency and professional guidelines.
• Participate in regular supervision sessions and commit to continual professional development.
Qualifications and Other Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work (accredited).
• Experience: ≥2 years in social services or community engagement.
• Strong interest in working with at-risk youth and/or ex-inmates.
• Eligible or registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW) preferred.
• 5-day work week with flexibility to include weekends as per the programme requirements.
