Medicine / HealthcareThe Remanufacturing Process Technology (RPT) Group in ARTC is looking for a responsible and motivated laboratory officer to join the group. The lab officer?s responsibilities include operation of high-power lasers for cleaning related experiments, metal and composite sample preparation, characterization, measurement, and mechanical testing. The lab officer also supports group?s research activities through procurement, design of experiments, equipment scheduling, risks identification and assessment to ensure efficient and safe operation of our labs. The roles and responsibilities include the following areas:
• Perform high-power laser material processing using robotics, CNC and hand-held systems on-site of ARTC and occasional visit to customer sites.
• Perform material testing, sample preparation, microstructure & defects analysis in fabricated coupons and parts.
• Tracking and managing lab resource utilization, procurement, and delivery.
• Storage space management and optimization.
• Ensure high operational readiness by troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and liaising for repairs.
• Planning equipment maintenance and facilitating mechanical and electrical installations for new equipment.
• Assist in scheduling equipment utilization and procurement for project consumables.
• Secondary roles related to health, safety, environment, and procurement to manage the Risk Assessment (RA), Standard Working Procedures (SWP), Permit to Work (PTW), and chemical purchasing and storage.
• Identify and recommend improvement measurements to ensuring high quality in lab safety and 8S standards
Detailed Job requirements:
• Polytechnic/ Technical Diploma in Engineering
• Ability to learn and adapt new technologies to stay relevant.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt new technologies to stay relevant.

• Experience with high-power laser is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a lab is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS office.
