• Mon-Fri, Office Hours
• Performs venepuncture for the collection of blood specimens for dispatch to the laboratory in accordance with the standards set
• Sorts and records all blood specimens collected, and ensure that they are correctly labeled, and dispatched to the Laboratory in the correct mode
• Perform IV cannulation
• Taking of blood culture
• Practise Universal Precautions throughout the procedure
• Perform Group & Cross Match
• Gathers feedback from Clinicians, Staff and Patients on matters concerning workflow improvement
• Secondary Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist in improving, identifying and implement changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy Service
• Implement Service Audit and Quality Assurance programmes
• Continuously upgrading of skills and techniques
• Perform any other duties assigned by the AMU/EMD Doctors/Nursing Officers Operations Manager/Executives

Job Requirements

• State Registered Nurse or Trained Assistant Nurse with at least 3 years experience or Phlebotomist certified by recognized Institutions with minimum 2 years experience in performing venepuncture.
• Practical knowledge of hospital operations.
• Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work well independently and in a team
