ABOUT WORLD TABLE TENNIS

The creation of World Table Tennis (WTT) is set to revolutionise the way table tennis is viewed and commercialised across the globe. With significant external investment and commitment to long term partnership, WTT is much more than a vehicle to house current rights. As the dedicated commercial rights entity, for the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), WTT has the ambition and ability to create new assets and events, capitalising on the unrivalled potential of the sport. The clear aim is to build WTT into a revenue generation powerhouse, ploughing profits back into Table Tennis to continually develop and transform the sport.

Taking a new, innovative and entrepreneurial approach to how table tennis should manage its competition platform and positioning, WTT has been tasked with re-imagining a new professional event structure, re-energising the entertainment and fan experience, and re-defining the new era. With 300 million players and over 500 million fans, the potential of the sport of table tennis is waiting to be unleashed.

WTT SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

We are looking for a passionate and driven Social Media Manager to lead the day-to-day execution and strategy of WTT's social media channels. As the voice of WTT across platforms, you'll bring the sport to life for millions of fans by creating engaging, on-brand content, amplifying live moments, driving community growth, reach and revenue.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will work closely with our content, creative, and event teams to shape and share the global narrative of table tennis in fresh and exciting ways.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and oversee holistic platform-specific social media strategies (FB, IG, X, YT, TikTok, LinkedIn) that aligns with WTT's brand objectives and marketing goals
  • Lead and mentor a team of Social Media Specialist, ensuring high-performance, clear delegation, and consistent content output across time zones and event schedules
  • Create and manage content calendars that span live events, evergreen content, fan engagement and player storytelling
  • Strategic mindset with ability to balance big-picture planning and day-to-day execution
  • Collaborate with creative and content team to brief concept and review social assets ensuring consistent visual identity across platforms
  • Manage and analyse paid and organic content calendars for consistent, engaging posts in support of WTT's brand initiatives as well as events worldwide
  • Guide tone-of-voice and interaction styles across platforms. Monitor comments, trends and fan feedback to strength community engagement and sentiments
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Brand Partnership to propose social media campaigns to ensure maximum ROI through creative content execution
  • Partner with PR and marketing to spotlight players on and off tables, developing narratives that build star power and fan affinity
  • Set KPIs, track and report platform performance by utilizing analytics and social media insights to optimize content strategies
  • Lead social media communication, building networks with industry professionals and influencers
  • Any other duties as required by Line Manager and Management


REQUIREMENTS

Essential:
  • Diploma in Mass Communication, Marketing or related field, with a sports industry background preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of social media marketing and content development experience, showcasing community growth
  • Experience in the sports marketing, broadcast or events industry is a plus
  • Proficiency in English, with exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative team player mindset
  • Skilled in mobile content creation, video/photo editing
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring team members
  • Deep understanding of platform trends, emerging formats and digital culture
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills tailored to social
  • Comfortable working in a face-paced, high-pressure environments, especially during live events
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel for global WTT events

Desirable:
  • Passion for sports, knowledge or experience in table tennis is highly desirable
  • Ability to work in multiple languages, with a preference in Southeast Asian Languages
  • Knowledge or experience in video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
