Marketing / AdvertisingWe are looking for a versatile and creative Marketing and Communication Executive to join our team. You will play a key role in developing SEC's communications strategy and executing marketing activities across various channels. This role requires a strong communicator who's adept at storytelling, stakeholder engagement, content creation, event outreach - and is organised in managing campaign databases, digital platforms, and outreach lists.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Communications Strategy & Content Development
- Oversee the planning and execution of SEC's communication and content strategy, including annual reports, campaign narratives, and special projects such as anniversary materials.
- Develop communications that align with key environmental themes and global sustainability dates (e.g., Earth Day, Zero Waste Month, Recycling Week).
- Drive and shape campaign narratives that support SEC's advocacy, including Zero Waste, Recycling, Climate Action, and Community Engagement.
2. Social Media, Website & Digital Content Management
- Manage SEC's social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram Tiktok) - from content planning and creation to publishing and community engagement.
- Ensure thematic consistency and storytelling across platforms to drive reach, engagement, and impact.
- Oversee basic website content management - update pages, news, and event listings using CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
- Work with web developers or vendors on improvements, troubleshooting, or redesigns as needed.
3. Design & Collateral Production
- Design and produce visuals and collaterals using Canva - including social media assets, event banners, posters, and presentations.
- Work with external vendors or creatives, where needed, to support larger-scale content and outreach initiatives.
4. Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
- Draft press releases, media kits, and talking points for campaigns and events.
- Coordinate media outreach and cultivate relationships with journalists, including organising events such as media briefings or coffee sessions with the press.
5. Email Marketing & Database Management
- Manage email communications and eDMs to engage different audience segments.
- Maintain and update SEC's contact databases, including media, partners, schools, and stakeholders.

6. Community Engagement & Event Support
- Plan and manage outreach events and campaigns - from logistics and vendor coordination to programme flow and on-ground execution.
- Support community activations, school engagements, and stakeholder workshops.
- Develop post-event content and reports to communicate impact.
7. Collaboration & Vendor/Team Management
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to produce content, manage timelines, and execute campaigns effectively.
- Possibly oversee interns or junior staff working on content or event support.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Environmental Studies, or related fields.
- 2-4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public engagement.
- Excellent writing skills with a flair for storytelling and content curation.
- Proficient in Canva and digital content creation; some experience with basic design principles is ideal.
- Social media native - with a strong grasp of audience engagement on Tiktok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and comfortable making updates.
- Experience in stakeholder communication, media relations, or community partnerships.
- Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Brevo) and database management tools.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- A passion for sustainability and a keen interest in environmental issues.
