Position Overview

Gnext is seeking a highly strategic and brand-centric Head of Marketing Communications to lead our regional communications efforts across Southeast Asia (SEA) and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This pivotal role is ideal for a seasoned marketing communications leader who possesses a deep understanding of premium consumer electronics, particularly the Apple ecosystem, and has a proven track record in driving impactful brand narratives and engagement strategies through distribution channels.

The ideal candidate will bring an in-depth understanding of the SEA and APAC markets, including regional consumer behavior, media landscapes, and the nuances of communicating Gnext products, across diverse cultures. You will be responsible for defining the regional marketing communications vision, crafting compelling brand stories, and executing integrated campaigns that resonate with target audiences, drive demand, and align seamlessly with our commercial objectives.

Position Overview

Gnext is seeking a highly strategic and brand-centric Head of Marketing Communications to lead our regional communications efforts across Southeast Asia (SEA) and the broader Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This pivotal role is ideal for a seasoned marketing communications leader who possesses a deep understanding of the consumer electronics and mobile distribution landscape, and has a proven track record in driving impactful brand narratives and engagement strategies for multiple leading brands through diverse distribution channels.

The ideal candidate will bring an in-depth understanding of the SEA and APAC markets, including regional consumer behavior, media landscapes, and the nuances of communicating a diverse portfolio of products across various cultures. You will be responsible for defining the regional marketing communications vision, crafting compelling brand stories for our portfolio, and executing integrated campaigns that resonate with target audiences, drive demand, and align seamlessly with our commercial objectives for all Gnext-distributed brands.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Marketing Communications Leadership (Multi-Brand Focus):

• Develop and execute a regional marketing communications strategy tailored to enhance the brand positioning, market penetration, and revenue growth for all Gnext-distributed brands across SEA and APAC.

• Ensure all communications maintain consistency with each brand's global guidelines and messaging, while being expertly localized for cultural relevance and market impact.

• Lead the communications strategy for all new product launches, category expansions, and key seasonal campaigns across our brand portfolio in regional markets, ensuring maximum buzz and consumer engagement.

• Act as the primary liaison with brand principals' regional marketing teams, ensuring alignment on communication strategies, asset utilization, and reporting for each respective brand.

2. Digital Brand Storytelling & Engagement:

• Drive end-to-end digital communications strategies across owned (websites, social media, CRM), earned (PR, influencer), and paid (digital media) channels to amplify the narrative for our diverse brand portfolio.

• Optimize digital and social media presence to foster strong communities around our products, deepen customer engagement, and generate qualified leads for our distribution network across all brands.

• Leverage data and analytics to continuously refine content strategies, optimize communication channels, and improve brand sentiment and engagement metrics for the entire Gnext portfolio.

3. Channel Communications & Partner Enablement:

• Collaborate closely with sales, product, and channel development teams to empower our distributors, retailers, and partners with compelling marketing communication tools and programs for all Gnext-distributed products.

• Develop and execute B2B and B2C communications campaigns that support sell-in and sell-out objectives for our entire brand portfolio, including partner marketing toolkits, retail merchandising guidelines, and co-marketing initiatives.

• Translate diverse product features and technical specifications into clear, compelling, and benefit-driven customer-facing messaging and sales enablement content for each brand.

4. Market Insights & Competitive Communications Intelligence:

• Conduct regional market research to identify unique consumer insights, media consumption habits, and emerging trends relevant to the brand communications of our entire portfolio in each market.

• Monitor and analyze competitor communication strategies, particularly those of leading mobile and electronics brands in the region, to identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage across all Gnext brands.

• Provide actionable insights that inform content development, campaign messaging, and strategic communications direction for our full product range.

5. Public Relations, Influencer & Event Management:

• Lead the regional PR strategy and media relations for all Gnext-distributed brands, building strong brand visibility and thought leadership in the consumer electronics space.

• Cultivate strategic partnerships with key technology influencers, media outlets, and relevant industry figures to drive authentic co-branded campaigns and product advocacy across our diverse portfolio.

• Oversee the planning, promotion, and execution of regional events, product launches, trade shows, and webinars focused on showcasing Gnext's full range of products and engaging target audiences.

6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing marketing communications team across regional markets, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence in multi-brand storytelling.

• Foster strong cross-functional alignment with sales, channel development, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless go-to-market communications execution for all Gnext brands.

• Report on marketing communications performance, brand health, and strategic milestones to senior leadership with clear, data-driven insights across the entire portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

• 8+ years of progressive marketing communications experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing regional teams and strategies.

• Proven experience working within an MNC or well-established brand in the mobile, consumer electronics, or tech distribution sector, with a track record of managing multiple brands simultaneously.

• Background with leading brands such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, or their authorized distributors is a strong advantage.

• In-depth knowledge of SEA and APAC markets, including cultural nuances, digital ecosystems, and consumer dynamics relevant to a diverse portfolio of consumer electronics brands.

• Strong capabilities in brand building, integrated marketing communications, digital storytelling, campaign execution, and marketing analytics.

• Proficiency in tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Manager, PR/media monitoring platforms, marketing automation platforms, and CRM systems.
