The Director of Operational Excellence Management is responsible for driving operational excellence across the freight forwarding business by optimizing workflows, improving efficiency, and ensuring process standardization.

This role plays a dual function:

1. Leading the integration of acquired companies to seamlessly align with DP World's operational framework.

2. Enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability of existing freight forwarding operations.

Working closely with the Cluster VP for Global Freight Forwarding, you will spearhead strategic initiatives, implement technology-driven solutions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to strengthen service delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities:

Process Standardization, Optimization Performance Management:

• Conduct detailed process mapping and analysis to align with company best practices.

• Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all operational functions, ensuring uniformity.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce inefficiencies and increase operational performance.

• Ensure smooth coordination between key operational functions, including customer service, operations management, and other freight forwarding functions.

Operational Portfolio Management:

• Identify and address operational gaps between acquired entities and existing processes to improve efficiency and performance.

• Assess and align operational workflows, including booking, documentation, cargo handling, customs clearance, and transportation.

• Collaborate with local, regional and global operations teams to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining service continuity.

• Develop and execute structured operational integration plans for newly acquired freight forwarding entities.

• Monitor post-integration performance to ensure operational stability and effectiveness.

Technology & System Integration:

• Work with IT teams to integrate operational systems, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Freight Management Systems (FMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.

• Oversee the migration of operational data and ensure alignment of tracking, reporting, and invoicing processes.

• Promote automation and digitization of operational workflows to improve service reliability and reduce manual interventions.

Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure operational compliance with international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and customs requirements.

• Implement quality control measures to minimize delays, reduce documentation errors, and enhance cargo handling efficiency.

• Identify risks associated with operations and develop mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.

Stakeholder Coordination & Change Management:

• Act as the primary liaison between existing operations teams and newly acquired entities and the cluster, regional and global DPW network

• Communicate process changes effectively to ensure smooth adoption across all operational levels.

• Provide training and support to teams that exist or are transitioning to standardized processes and systems.

• Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to support integration success.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

• Minimum 7-10 years of extensive experience in freight forwarding operations, including understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, documentation requirements, and industry best practices.

• Prior experience in managing the post-integration of acquired companies into the existing organization will be a bonus.

• Strong project management skills to oversee the integration process, set timelines, allocate resources, and ensure successful execution within defined parameters.

• Proficiency in developing integration plans to align processes, systems, and operations between the acquiring company and the acquired company. This includes identifying synergies, streamlining operations, and optimizing resources.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external partners, and customers.

• Strong adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and timelines.
