As a Shipping Operations Executive , the incumbent will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing vessel chartering activities, ensuring profitable employment of vessels, and maintaining adherence to corporate policies. His/ her responsibilities will encompass, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing expertise on shipping- related matters.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the overall review of demurrage and despatch calculations.
Laytime calculations and closure with shipper, buyer and owners
Coordination with traders and accounts team to ensure collection of laytime payments
Responsible for all laytime calculations and post fixture records.
Voyage Calculations and Market Analysis
Conduct voyage calculations, comparing possibilities in accordance with market trends.
Establish and maintain strategic working relationships to provide relevant advise on optimal freight arrangements.
Stay informed about market developments and provide timely insights to Chartering Manager to support decision- making.
Stakeholder Coordination
Collaborate with shippers, buyers, suppliers etc to establish and maintain effective communication on shipping terms.
Advise the operations team on laycan, port of loading, discharge port laycan, and other relevant details.
Advise operations team and Chartering Manager on laytime calculations and freight costs.
Monitor all laytime and freight costs, identify opportunities and proactively develop action plan for cost savings.
Conduct a comparative study of market players in the shipping industry, advising on cost- effective shipping services with timely deliveries.
Shipping Activities
Oversee seamless execution of charter parties.
Responsible for all operational work and communication among shippers, agents, brokers, buyers, sellers, local team related to shipments.
Act as an escalation point to understand any gaps in shipping operations and ensure timely resolution.
Advise the container shipping business on shipping related matters
Ad- Hoc Responsibilities
Undertake any other related tasks or projects assigned by the management from time to time.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies/ Supply Chain and Logistics or equivalent
Proven working experience of minimum 3 years in a similar role in the bulk trading industry
In- depth knowledge of charter parties, freight calculations, and shipping terms
Compliance knowledge of all industrial and legal standards
Communication – proactive communicator with excellent written and verbal English Skills to interact effectively with global colleagues
Strong negotiation skills
Strong commercial sense, analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to analyze market trends and provide strategic insights
Familiarity with demurrage and dispatch calculations

Job location : Raffles Place
Salary : S$3,800.00 – S$5,000.00 per month (open for negotiations based on experience)
