We are seeking a resourceful and performance-driven Ocean Freight professional to lead and support our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily import and export ocean freight operations and customer service functions, ensuring on-time shipment coordination, documentation accuracy, and full compliance with both customer and company requirements.

You will lead and mentor a team to deliver exceptional service quality, working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to maintain operational efficiency and strengthen Dimerco's reputation as a trusted logistics partner.

This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth and timely operations, managing key customer accounts, enhancing service performance, and supporting business development initiatives to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure the operations team carries out daily activities promptly and efficiently; streamline workflows to improve overall productivity.
• Oversee import, export, and third-party logistics (3PL) business for key clients; coordinate with Singapore and overseas Dimerco stations, agents, and partners for shipment arrangements.
• Foster positive relationship with customers.
• Participate in the development, monitoring, and execution of business plans and operational strategies.
• Maintain and negotiate pricing with shipping lines, co-loaders, and vendors to enhance profit margins and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure customer issues and complaints are resolved promptly and effectively, maintaining a high standard of service.
• Conduct analytical tasks and provide performance insights to support management's decision-making processes.
• Participate in monthly performance and productivity reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties or assignments as directed by management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ocean freight operations or customer service, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of international trade practices, Incoterms, and freight forwarding operations.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
• Experience in vendor and pricing negotiations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluency in Mandarin is required to effectively liaise with Chinese stakeholders and Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
