Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to design, implement, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database architecture, a proven track record in managing large-scale databases, and experience leading database optimization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management:
  Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Monitoring & Optimization:
  Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  Perform capacity planning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Backup & Recovery:
  Implement robust backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  Conduct regular disaster recovery drills.
• Data Security:
  Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to support data requirements.
  Assist in database-related aspects of application development and deployment.
• Troubleshooting:
  Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly.
  Provide support during database outages and critical incidents.
• Documentation:
  Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and security policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in managing databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience with database security, access controls, and encryption technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell, PowerShell) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
