- Network Design & Implementation:
Design, deploy, and manage large-scale, enterprise-level network architectures.
Configure and optimize network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems. - Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues and outages promptly. - Security:
Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
Stay updated on security threats and apply patches or updates as needed. - Scalability & Optimization:
Plan and implement network upgrades to support organizational growth.
Optimize network performance by monitoring traffic and implementing QoS policies. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, protocols, and standards.
Provide regular reports on network performance, security, and capacity planning. - Collaboration:
Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
Support project teams with network-related expertise during system implementations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a complex enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with network technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, HP, or Aruba.
- Hands-on experience with routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless networking.
- Expertise in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Experience with network security protocols and tools (e.g., SSL, IPsec, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud networking).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty.
- Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with VoIP, unified communications, and telephony systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and network documentation standards.
