about the Job

We are looking for a highly skilled and performance-focused Database Administrator (DBA) to manage mission-critical database infrastructure, ensure high availability, optimize performance, and support secure data operations. This role requires deep expertise in SQL and NoSQL platforms, experience with database replication, clustering, and hands-on exposure to DBaaS and hybrid-cloud architectures. You will work on automating routine operations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), fine-tuning complex queries, and supporting multi-tenant environments under high throughput and low-latency conditions.

Skills and experience required

• Expert-level SQL skills and advanced experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL internals
• Proficient in NoSQL platforms like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis
• Solid understanding of ACID properties, MVCC, indexing strategies, query planning and caching layers
• Experience with database containerization and orchestration (K8s, Helm, StatefulSets)
• Proven track record of performance tuning, scaling, and observability (e.g., pgBadger, PMM, Prometheus + Grafana)
• Familiarity with DBaaS on AWS RDS, Aurora, or GCP Cloud SQL
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Go for automation tasks
• Strong knowledge of data governance, compliance (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR), and database security
• Bonus: Experience in setting up data lakes, CDC pipelines (Debezium), or working with Kafka and Airflow
