Position: Network Applications Engineer

Department: Mobile Connectivity

Reports to: VP - Asia Pacific

Summary: Candidate will be trained in existing network application devices and technology used for our existing customers. The candidate will be responsible for service design, testing and documenting product and network configurations of KVH's mobile connectivity suite of products. Fully time position reporting to the VP, APAC and based out of our Singapore office with Headquarters in Middletown, Rhode Island.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to the following:

• Become knowledgeable in KVH communications services and integrated routing capability and the services offered.

• Interact with sales team and customers to understand customer needs and LAN/WAN design requirements and clearly communicate technical information in a manner they will understand.

• Document customer requirements and prepare design proposal for review with customer.

• Potentially travel to customer site for integration testing of proposed designs and final acceptance.

• Identify, perform compatibility testing, and assist in documenting 3rd party products and their application with KVH's data product suite

• Act as initial point of escalation for all non-routine IT related technical support issues, interfacing with engineering as appropriate.

• Responsible for in-house and field troubleshooting the use and application of KVH data products.

• After hours support and activation may be required from time to time.

Qualifications/ Prerequisites:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent field preferred.

• Solid LAN/WAN networking experience required.

• Advance understanding of Internet Protocol, Firewall, Routing, and Networking basic.

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills; English proficiency preferred.

• Some experience with integrating networked systems for custom solutions.

• Linux systems administration experience preferred.

• Cisco router configuration experience a plus.

• Experience in managing Firewalls, NMS, and End point security will be a plus.

• Knowledge of user devices and operating systems (mobile and desktop) and common applications

• Self-learner and problem-solver.

Must be able to travel 15% of the time.
