Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Datacentre Operator to ensure the smooth operation of our data centre environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring systems, maintaining hardware, supporting incident resolution, and ensuring optimal uptime and performance of critical IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor data centre systems and environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, power) using standard monitoring tools.
• Perform routine checks on servers, network equipment, and backup systems to ensure operational health.
• Respond to system alerts and escalate issues according to incident management procedures.
• Support physical infrastructure tasks including racking/stacking, cabling, hardware swaps, and decommissioning.
• Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and manage asset lifecycle processes.
• Ensure data centre cleanliness and adherence to safety and security protocols.
• Provide basic hands-on support for remote teams, vendors, and engineers on-site.
• Document and update operational procedures, checklists, and incident reports.
• Participate in shift rotations and standby duty as required to provide 24/7 coverage.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in a data centre or IT operations environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of server, storage, and networking hardware.
• Familiarity with data centre infrastructure standards and best practices (e.g., ITIL, ISO 27001).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays if required.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., SolarWinds, ServiceNow).
• Basic knowledge of IT security and access controls.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent are an advantage.
