This role involves end-to-end database management, including installation, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for Oracle, SQL Server, and MariaDB environments. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, database security compliance, and driving automation and efficiency across database operations. The ideal candidate will also contribute to technical issue resolution, manage project timelines, and collaborate across infrastructure teams.

skills and experience required

• Expertise in Oracle RAC (4-node), Data Guard (Active/Physical), SQL Server Always-On (SYNC/ASYNC), and MariaDB MaxScale replication setups
• Hands-on with end-to-end DB provisioning for Oracle, SQL Server, and MariaDB in large-scale, enterprise-grade environments
• Extensive experience in DB hardening and compliance enforcement using Chef cookbooks, InSpec profiles, and automation via JSON databags
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning using tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, AWR, ADDM, and DTA
• Skilled in TEM-based patch orchestration, Veritas Cluster Services (VCS) support, and hybrid infra environments (on-prem, virtual, IaaS)
• Strong exposure to DevOps and infra tools: Bitbucket, Artifactory, Control-M, BMC Patrol, NSX-T, Confluence, plus scripting in PowerShell/Shell
