The candidate will work with the Data, Science and Technology team in MOHT. A data scientist role on our team focuses on the analysis of structured and unstructured data from the public healthcare system in Singapore as well as from MOHT's digital health programs.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The role will work on the HOPES project on digital phenotyping for serious mental conditions running as a service at the Institute for Mental Health. This individual will take a leading role in the data, analytics, and algorithms pillar in the HOPES project team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Data and Analytics: Work with the software engineering team, including a data pipeline engineer and a data quality engineer, to manage quality assurance over all data flowing through the platform. Overall responsibility for all analytics supporting the service, including continual service usage analytics, business analytics, evaluating the service and algorithmic performance, and running small studies to derive insights important to the service. The individual will work with software developers, business analysts, interns, vendors, clinical partners, and other stakeholders.
• Algorithms: This role will manage, evaluate, test, and work to improve the algorithms in service, which include hand-crafted clinician algorithms and machine learning algorithms. New machine learning modelling algorithms should be designed, tested, implemented and evaluated.
• Research and Evaluation: The role will work with data scientist partners and clinical research partners to conduct research on the algorithms, clinical interventions, and service and publish findings in top medical and machine learning venues.
• Data scientists on the team also more broadly strategize and execute new and existing digital health programs, including the design and deployment of new interventions
• Develop and deploy machine learning and AI models that drive MOHT strategy

Job Requirements:

• Masters or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or allied field with demonstrated development or commercial deployment capability with the ability to work independently.
• Experience supporting a live product or service with analytics and engineering feature enhancements will be preferred.
• Excellent python programming and engineering skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Desire and readiness to take on a leadership role in a project team
