Network Engineer

 

Work Location: Central Area, Singapore

Job Type: 3 Years Contract, Subject to Renewal

 

About the Role:

The Network Engineer is primarily responsible for day-to-day technical support of the global network. This includes activities associated with engineering, implementation, operations and end user support for the LAN, SD-WAN, WLAN, and related systems. The engineer is responsible for services utilizing current procedures, adhering to change management controls and escalating technical issues for input and guidance as required. The role is also responsible to help identify, analyze, document and manage the implementation of both short term tactical and longer term strategic solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and service quality.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network equipment and software platforms to include but not limited to: Cisco Meraki SD-WAN, Cisco Catalyst Switching, Cisco Aironet Wireless as well as Cisco Meraki wireless, SolarWinds NPM, NTA, NCM, Cisco DNA, Device42 (documentation).
  • Provide and manage a secure, high-performance network.
  • Create, maintain, and update diagrams/documentation of evolving environment and operational procedures.
  • Support installation and decommissioning of network circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and report provider issues to carrier and work to resolution.
  • Analyze and make recommendations on circuit requirements.
  • Interface and communicate with customers on network requests and support issues, follow through to completion and provide updates through helpdesk application.
  • Engage and coordinate with vendors for projects, MACs and incidents.
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external peers to accomplish assignments.
  • Travel to offices in North America and other remote locations from time to time for projects.
  • Track work for all work performed within our ticket system (ServiceDesk Plus) or project management system (Monday.com).

 

Job Requirements:

  1. Qualification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 1 year of information systems experience, or a diploma with 3 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 6 years of progressive information systems experience may substitute for a degree.
  2. Professional Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in network environments, including switching, routing, wireless, and SD-WAN.
    • Strong knowledge of Cisco/Meraki technologies; Cisco certifications (CCNA or CCNP) are a plus.
    • Proficient in layer 2 and layer 3 configurations and understanding of call distribution and VoIP call routing.
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio), with the ability to create documentation, diagrams, project schedules, and timelines.
  3. Additional Requirements
    • Must be available for on-call remote or on-site support outside regular hours, including weekends and holidays, for emergency situations.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 35kg as needed.
  4. Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating accountability and a strong desire to learn and grow.
    • Positive attitude, patience, and customer service orientation.
    • Willingness to share knowledge with team members and work as a proactive, supportive team player.
