Job Summary

The Global Head of Digital Marketing will lead and drive the digital marketing strategy for Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) for the Bank, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and delivering a seamless customer experience. This role demands a visionary mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute comprehensive digital marketing initiatives on a global scale. The Global Head of Digital Marketing will inspire and lead both direct reports and matrix teams, fostering a collaborative environment that leverages diverse talents and perspectives to achieve common goals.

Digital Marketing Ownership

• Develop and implement a cohesive global digital marketing strategy and performance marketing across all markets.

• Leverage data analytics and market insights to inform strategic decisions and optimize digital campaigns.

• Utilize advanced analytics tools to measure, analyse, and report on the performance of digital marketing activities.

• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape to drive innovation.

• Ensure the digital marketing strategy supports the bank's customer acquisition, engagement, and retention goals.

• Ensure paid media effectiveness and optimization across online and offline channels, accountable to drive both short term and long term end-to-end customer journey effectiveness

• Lead the end-to-end digital marketing process, from strategy development to execution and evaluation.

• Develop and execute multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and paid advertising.

• Foster relationships with key digital partners, agencies, and vendors to enhance capabilities and performance.

• Manage and drive martech agenda, use of data analytics and in both Global and Local Marketing teams.

People & Talent

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing core digital marketing team.

• Oversee a matrix organization with regional and global marketing teams reporting in.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Clearly communicate the vision and goals of the digital marketing function to stakeholders at all levels.

• Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive alignment and support for digital initiatives.

• Champion diversity and inclusion within the digital marketing team and the broader organization.

• Coordinate with regional marketing leaders to tailor and execute global strategies effectively at the local level.

• Collaborate closely with business partners across the bank, including product, sales and tech teams, to integrate digital marketing efforts with broader business initiatives.

• Manage relationships with external agency partners, ensuring they deliver high-quality work aligned with the bank's goals and standards.

• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and development sessions to maintain high standards of performance and engagement.

Risk Management

• Manage marketing standards to reinforce overall SC brand positioning through consistency in tone, manner, look and feel, and gain competitive market advantage

Governance

• Implement a standardised affluent marketing operating rhythm including market planning, campaign execution, performance tracking and stakeholder engagement model

• Understand the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

• Leaders and peers in the WRB Management teams (global, regional, and local).

Our Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA is strongly preferred.

• 8 plus years of experience in digital marketing in banking.

• 5 plus years experience in a senior leadership role.

• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful global digital marketing strategies within the financial services sector. Experience managing digital marketing budgets and driving cost efficiencies.

• Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, content marketing, and digital advertising.

• Proficiency in data analytics and performance measurement tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).

• Exceptional leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional and cross-geographical teams in a matrix organisation.

• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, customer behaviours, and competitive landscapes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions and optimise marketing performance.

• Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and staying ahead of industry trends.

• Highly motivated, results-oriented, and customer-focused. Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and professionalism. Ability to navigate and influence within a complex, global organisation.
