The Joint NTU-UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for the Elderly (LILY) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Response for training and optimizing large language models.
• Implement reinforcement learning algorithms to improve language models alignment.
• Develop systems for efficient and systematic experimental data collection.
• Assist in the comprehensive analysis of data, and create detailed visualizations for academic publications.
• Write research papers/reports based on the requirements of the project.

Job Requirements:

• BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc in computer science, machine learning, data science, information science, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Experiences/Knowledge in deep learning, reinforcement learning, and user interface development.
• Proficiency with GNU/Linux, Python and at least one of the main machine learning libraries (e.g., pytorch, tensorflow, keras).
• Experience in mathematical modeling competitions, ACM programming contests, and paper publication is preference.
• Solid background in mathematics and excellent writing and communication skills.
