Job Summary

The Computer System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems. The role ensures system availability, security, performance, and smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and enterprise applications
  • Manage Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and access control
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery procedures
  • Implement cybersecurity measures including firewalls, antivirus, and patch management
  • Administer email systems, cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365), and file servers
  • Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Support LAN/WAN infrastructure, switches, routers, and Wi-Fi networks
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, data protection, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support to end users
  • Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and support contracts

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in system administration
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with network administration and security protocols
  • Knowledge of virtualization and backup solutions
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices is an advantage
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, VMware)
