ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Role:

1. The Senior Systems Architect to assists with extending Pega 7 in-line with business requirements. As a senior role within the team, it requires the ability to articulate vision and architecture whilst maintaining a very hands-on approach. The role will work closely with permanent and contract Pega specialists, and also includes significant exposure to teams across the business; therefore requiring the ability to articulate progress and issues to a non-technical, and often senior audience.

Responsibilities:

 Operate in a hands-on, development role - the majority of time will be invested in coding rules;

 Writing feature definitions and technical specifications in accordance with our development standards;

 Working with the business to write detailed specifications for assigned development tasks;

 Development and implementation of Pega solutions in Pega 7 to a high and bug free standard utilising latest recommended Pega 7 methods and practices;

 Provide support and guidance to the business / business analysts in terms of shaping requirements;

Senior Systems Architect (Pega) - Technology Development

 Provide guidance on best use of Pega technology including using OOTB features where applicable;

 Being guardrail compliant in all development activities;

 Writing unit tests and conducting peer reviews within the development team;

 Provide technical / functional quality assurance over all Pega development;

 Ensure delivered work products meet and perform to technical and functional requirements;

 Ensure work is completed on time / budget and provide proactive updates to management if timelines or effort estimates are in jeopardy;

 Provide regular updates to management on progress and outstanding issues;

 Occasionally provide onsite assistance with release weekends;

 Maintain personal / professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training;

 When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets;

 Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality;

 Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Professional accreditation / education:

 PRPC SSA Certification;

 Pega 7 Certification (e.g. SSA Essentials, UI Specialist course);

 Degree in a numerate subject such as Computer Science, Maths, Physics or equivalent.

Skills and experience:

 Proven lead experience in analysis, design, development, and deployment of PRPC based enterprise systems;

 Experience with PRPC in a java-centric SOA, particularly where PRPC is not the master data source;

 Recent Pega 6.* experience;

 Recent Pega 7.* experience;

 Strong user experience design;

 Recent experience in a Pega 6 to Pega 7 upgrade project is desirable;

 Good understanding of Databases and Java Application Servers;

 Comfortable with contributing to complex technical / architectural discussions;

 Recent practical hands-on development experience in a highly agile commercial environment;

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

 Experience with Pega Customer Service framework.
