The objective is to appoint a DBA resource to:

• Lead and execute the safe, secure, and reliable migration of the DMS database to Azure SQL Managed Instance within GCC 2.0
• Ensure database migration activities are conducted in compliance with Government ICT policies, including IM8 security and governance requirements
• Support business continuity, data integrity, and system performance throughout the migration and cutover process
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and skill exchange to internal teams to strengthen in-house capabilities for future database operations and cloud migrations

Skills required -

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator supporting enterprise-scale systems
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server migration projects, preferably involving migration to Azure SQL Managed Instance
• Experience handling large-scale databases (multi-terabyte environments) is highly preferred
• Prior experience supporting government, public sector, or regulated environments is an advantage

Technical Competency

• Strong expertise inMicrosoft SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Database migration planning, execution, and validation.
• Backup, restore, recovery, and high availability configurations
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Managed Instance architecture, limitations, and optimisation practices
• Understanding of security controls, access management, and audit considerations related to database systems
• Provide technical DBA inputs for IM8 security and compliance checklisting
• Validate database readiness in the GCC-hosted Azure SQL Managed Instance environment
• Review backup, restore, recovery, and high-availability configurations
• Assist with database-related on-premises migration and readiness checklists
• Provide advisory inputs on resilience and rollback considerations
