Role Purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage patching and vulnerability remediation across all network and firewall devices, ensuring security, stability, and compliance within the enterprise infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities

Network & Security Administration

• Administer and support network and security environments including Cisco, Fortinet, and F5 platforms.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of ACI, Cisco, Arista, F5, Check Point, and Palo Alto technologies.
• Maintain and monitor network logs, ensuring operational health and compliance.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and operations teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and coordinate patching activities with minimal service disruption.
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and audit requirements by maintaining accurate patching documentation, change records, and deployment reports.

Requirements

Patch & Vulnerability Management (Must Have)

• Own end-to-end patch management and vulnerability management for network and firewall devices.
• Perform patch assessments, provide recommendations, and plan deployment strategies.
• Execute network, firewall, BIOS, and firmware upgrades with well-defined rollback procedures.
• Troubleshoot issues related to patching and firmware upgrades.
• Utilize patch management tools such as NetBot or equivalent platforms.
• Automate pre- and post-patching activities to improve efficiency and reliability.

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco platforms (IOS / IOS-XE).
• Solid understanding of network flows and traffic behavior.
• Strong expertise in DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
• In-depth experience with Switching (VLANs, bundling mechanisms, Ethernet, STP variants) and Routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Good exposure to standard and extended access control lists (ACLs).

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in network and firewall administration.
• Proven experience working in an SLA-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to work weekends on a roster basis and provide on-call support during weekdays as required.
