Regional IT Security Manager

Our client is an established European manufacturing MNC, looking for a Regional IT Security Manager to join their IT team based in Singapore. (Alexandra).
Summary:
The Regional IT Security Manager is responsible for supporting security operations, reviewing technical designs, and ensuring practical implementation of security controls across APAC. This role is ideal for candidates who come from a hands‑on IT infrastructure or network engineering background and have progressively developed strong, real‑world security skills.
The role requires good technical judgement, the ability to validate design decisions, distinguish genuine risks from "noise," and provide clear, workable recommendations. You will also take part in IT projects and provide operational security support where necessary.
Position Overview:
• Review infrastructure and network designs to identify security gaps and recommend practical improvements.
• Evaluate user and business requests to determine whether issues are real security concerns or general operational topics.
• Provide hands‑on support and guidance for secure configurations, deployments, and technical changes.
• Participate in regional IT projects to ensure security requirements are incorporated during design and implementation.
• Support vulnerability management, patching, endpoint protection, and identity/access governance activities.
• Assist with technical assessments, audit readiness, and compliance activities required by group security standards.
• Monitor regional security posture and highlight key risks with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Support BCP/DRP planning, execution, and annual testing for critical regional systems.
• Coordinate implementation of group IT security policies and minimum standards across APAC sites.
• Track and follow up on security risks together with local IT teams to ensure timely closure.
• Provide operational support for security incidents, escalations, and routine security-related tasks.
• Conduct practical security awareness and training sessions for end-users and local IT teams.
• Act as a liaison between Group Security, Regional IT Infrastructure, and local site IT to ensure aligned execution of security initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
• Strong hands‑on background in IT infrastructure, systems, or networking (required).
• Practical understanding of network segmentation, access control, firewalls, identity services, and endpoint protection.
• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, security operations, or mixed roles.
• Experience with vulnerability management, patching, and system hardening.
• Ability to interpret requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose realistic, risk‑based solutions.
• Clear communication, strong analytical skills, and sound technical judgement.
