Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Historian Engineer to support our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation systems, industrial data management,and historian platforms. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing data historian solutions to ensure accurate and reliable data collection for process monitoring, analysis, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data historian systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
• Configure and manage historian platforms such as Aspen InfoPlus.21 (IP.21), Aspen APRM, and OSIsoft PI.
• Integrate historian systems with automation platforms (DCS, PLC, SCADA) to ensure seamless data acquisition.
• Develop and maintain data interfaces using common industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC DA/UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profibus, MQTT).
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and other regulatory requirements for data integrity.
• Collaborate with process engineers, automation teams, and IT to optimize data flow and reporting.
• Troubleshoot historian-related issues and provide technical support for data analytics and reporting tools.
• Document system configurations, validation protocols, and change management activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience with Kepware, AspenTech products (Aspen IP.21, APRM) and OSIsoft PI.
• Strong understanding of automation systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS) and industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory compliance standards.
• Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and scripting for automation (e.g., Python, VBScript).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of cloud-based historian solutions and IIoT architectures.
• Understanding of batch process data management and MES integration.
