Preferred Qualifications
- Serve as the "hands and feet" engineer, managing day-to-day operations and coordinating with users, visitors, and subscribers.
- Facilitate and oversee visitor activities within the Data Centre.
- Collaborate with project teams to support ongoing initiatives.
- Handle operational and production-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage and respond to incidents during assigned shifts.
- Participate in Data Centre operations across multiple customer sites in Singapore, including equipment installation, decommissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Travel to different sites for incident resolution and planned maintenance activities.
- Perform equipment installation and removal, including server racking and stacking.
- Execute cabling tasks such as patching, labeling, and structured cabling.
- Conduct daily server health checks, walkthroughs, reporting, and manage queues (remedy and email).
- Ensure cleanliness and safety by keeping contaminants and cardboard out of the Data Centre.
- Receive deliveries, maintain inventory, and manage storeroom organization.
- Maintain accurate visitor records and access logs.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Data Centre operations.
- Strong knowledge of Data Centre infrastructure and hardware troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cabling standards and structured cabling practices.
- Basic understanding of Data Centre facilities, environments, and industry standards.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 rotational shift environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to team rotation schedules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; proactive and motivated team player.
- Proven experience with Data Centre operational processes and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certifications (e.g., Data Centre certifications).
- Experience collaborating with external vendors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong team orientation and adaptability in a 24x7 environment.
- High availability and commitment to operational requirements.
