Global Data Engineering Analyst (US-Based Company Operating in Malaysia)

Location: Johor Bahru (Must be able to reside in Malaysia) (As Based in Malaysia Welcome Malaysian)
Compensation: RM 7,000 - 13,000 monthly, based on experience and technical capability

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineering Analyst to help build the foundation of our regional data ecosystem. In this role, you will architect, refine, and maintain data pipelines and backend structures that empower analytics, reporting, and data-driven strategies. As one of the early members of our Data Analytics function in the region, you will significantly influence the creation of efficient, scalable, and high-quality data systems that support business growth.

This position combines technical depth with strong cross-functional communication, as you will collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure seamless data integration, reliability, and usability.

Primary Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Engineering: Develop and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines that ensure consistent, accurate flow of information from various sources.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with analysts and business units to integrate and prepare datasets for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• ETL Process Ownership: Design, enhance, and troubleshoot ETL workflows across multiple data environments.
• Data Warehouse Development: Manage and optimize warehouse structures-including schema creation, performance tuning, and data organization.
• System Monitoring & Optimization: Oversee data platforms, diagnose issues, and implement improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Documentation & Governance: Produce clear documentation for processes, standards, and workflows to maintain high operational quality.
• Additional Duties: Support other data-related initiatives aligned with business priorities whenever needed.

Required Qualifications & Expertise

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's or Master's).

Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC.

Deep understanding of data warehousing principles (STAR schema, data lineage, data quality) and experience with analytics-focused databases such as AWS Redshift.

Practical experience working with cloud data ecosystems (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.that all resumes are carefully reviewed.
