About the Role

The QA/QC Welding Engineer will be responsible for welding quality control during the procurement and manufacturing of pipelines (including line pipes and subsea casings). The role ensures that all welding activities, documents, and inspections comply with project specifications, international codes and quality standards. This includes reviewing vendor procedures, resolving welding-related quality issues, coordinating inspections, and ensuring full traceability of welding records for final acceptance.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure welding and quality requirements are understood and implemented by vendors
• Participate in vendor and project meetings, including Kick-Off Meetings and Pre-Inspection Meetings
• Review and comment on vendor documents such as ITP, MPS, FAT procedures, inspection reports, etc.
• Coordinate clarification and follow-up on welding technical queries with vendors and project teams
• Verify readiness for inspections and liaise with third-party inspectors
• Review inspection reports and identify deviations where necessary
• Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Review and validate final manufacturing documentation such as record books and as-built dossiers
• Support the setup and maintenance of welding quality traceability systems

Requirements

• Post-graduate degree in Welding Engineering, OR Bachelor's degree in Materials/Metallurgical Engineering with IWE/EWE certification
• Minimum 10 years of QA/QC welding experience within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry (pipelines, fabrication, pressure equipment, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, etc.) and related inspection and qualification methods
• Experience with welding high-strength pipeline steels and corrosion-resistant alloys (CRA)
• Familiar with international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, EN, BS, etc.
• Proficient in written and spoken English for technical discussions and reporting
• Strong problem-solving, documentation and coordination skills
• Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
