Role:

• Manager and overall in charge of all operations aspects of Data Centre
• Actively participate in activities related to Data Centre business areas
• Manage a team of DC engineers including planning, scheduling, monitoring, tasks assignment, controlling outcome and measuring of effectiveness

** Take note due to the nature of this department, you will be expected to be on 24 hours standby in case of any emergencies at the data centre that may require your immediate attention and management.

Responsibilities:

Team Management

• Jointly set KAA (Key Achievement Areas) of DC team with Director, Data Centre Services
• Regularly assess DC team training requirement against competency in carrying out their work
• Performance review of team members
• Day-to-Day follow up on assigned tasks and results
• Organise team building/bonding activities for DC
• Motivate team to deliver beyond customers' expectation

Customer Management

• Attend meetings related to DC businesses
• Reporting (incident reports, exercise reports and others)
• Scheduling of DC activities (such as exercise planning, scheduling, maintenance, training, provisioning, decommissioning etc)
• Complaint / DC Incident Management
• Work with team in managing problem cases. Overall accountable in ensuring problems solved
• Be point of contact pertaining to service delivery
• A final escalation point in most DC operations matter except for unique or special cases that requires higher decision by Director, Data Centre Services

Internal Audit (Process Management and Control)

• Implement, enforce, maintain, control work flows and processes within the data centre
• Ensure availability and upkeep of DC facilities, ready for customer visits/audit
• Vendor management including scheduling of appointments for survey/maintenance/discussion etc.
• Perform reviews of systems logs, access control system, CCTV recordings according to planned dates or time frames.
• Ensure operations is compliant to certification guidelines and remediate any identified gaps
• Service Quality Management (e.g. Resource Capacity Management)
• Ensure adherence to tight physical and logical security controls in the Data Centre according to DC policies and procedures.

Other General Operations Duties

• Maintain proper set of DC documentation and procedures for proper operations control (able to backup one another in the team)

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree Qualification.
• 3 years experience managing a Data Centre
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Possess excellent communication skills including ability to influence and communicate to all levels of stakeholders.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
