Job Summary:
Role: Senior Linux Administrator
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (renewable)
Location: Singapore
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Linux Administrator to oversee and maintain our critical Linux infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Linux system administration, automation, and security, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability across our server environments.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior enterprise Linux administration role.
- Strong documentation and coaching abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Self-motivated and eager to continuously learn and grow in the IT field.
- Experience working in international environments.
- Strong team collaboration skills across departments.
- Customer service-oriented mindset.
Required Technical Skills:
- RHCE certification with strong hands-on experience in Linux technologies.
- Experience with HPE Enterprise Hardware (e.g., MoonShot and ProLiant servers).
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and cloud APIs (Azure/AWS).
- Strong background in Microsoft Azure cloud platform management.
- Expertise in large-scale Linux deployments and automated OS/application installations (e.g., Kickstart).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python).
- Experience in building Linux binary packages (RPM/DPKG).
- Administration of RHEL, CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu LTS.
- Familiarity with Linux virtualization technologies (e.g., QEMU/KVM).
- Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, Icinga, Cacti).
- Exposure to FreeBSD, embedded Linux, and SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and SAML-based SSO.
- Familiarity with VMware and Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop OS.
- Understanding of IT security concepts and TCP/IP networking.
- Knowledge of Web Services, SOA architecture, SaaS, and PaaS in Azure.
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Experience with Thin/Zero Client architecture.
- Familiarity with Linux Kernel internals and other UNIX/UNIX-like operating systems.
- Experience supporting UNIX/Linux systems running SAP.
- Understanding of ITIL framework.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain enterprise-grade Linux systems across physical and cloud environments.
- Implement and manage automation tools for large-scale deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needs and resolve technical issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in change management processes and adhere to ITIL best practices.
