Key Responsibilities: 

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN). 

Configure and install network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers). 

Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.  Troubleshoot network issues and outages and provide Level 2/3 support.

Collaborate with network architects on network optimization and future enhancements. 

Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. 

Maintain documentation related to network configuration, topology, and procedures. 

Work with vendors and service providers to ensure optimal performance and SLA adherence. 

Support disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

5-8 years of hands-on experience in network engineering roles. 

Strong knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). 

Proficiency in configuring Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or Palo Alto devices. 

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).

Familiarity with firewall configurations, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems. 

Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. 

CCNA/CCNP certification is required (or equivalent). 

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience working on government and customer facing projects.
