About the Role

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to help power the core infrastructure of a high-performance trading platform. You'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing real-time systems that form the backbone of the order management engine. This position is ideal for engineers who thrive in performance-critical environments and want to work at the intersection of finance and cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the core order management system, ensuring robust handling of the full order lifecycle.
• Monitor and optimize system uptime and responsiveness - target 99.9%+ availability.
• Design and implement backend services, including real-time data pipelines, websocket-based communication, asynchronous job queues, and pub-sub architectures.
• Collaborate closely with the product and trading teams to introduce new features and support expansion into new asset classes.
• Participate in the development of core trading strategies, particularly those interacting with retail order flow.
• Optimize system scalability and database performance to handle increasing data volume and low-latency needs.
• Use observability tools and analytics to monitor system health and implement data-driven performance improvements.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders, including Chinese-speaking team members and business partners.

Key Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a backend software engineer or full-stack engineer with strong backend expertise.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a trading firm or similar environment with exposure to exchange integrations or trading infrastructure.
• Strong experience in Golang; candidates with a background in Rust, Python, or C++ will also be considered if they demonstrate readiness to work in Golang.
• Demonstrated experience building high-throughput, real-time systems with stringent uptime requirements.
• Familiarity with async processing, batch jobs, queueing systems, pub-sub messaging, and websockets.
• Proficient in AWS cloud infrastructure, including Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipeline configuration.
• Product-oriented mindset - able to approach problems from a solutions-first and business-first perspective.
• Prior exposure to financial markets, quant research, brokerage platforms, or crypto exchanges is a strong plus.
• Must be comfortable working closely with Chinese-speaking stakeholders; Mandarin proficiency is preferred.
