Details of the Division and Team:

The Payroll Specialist is a key member of the payroll team ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the monthly payroll for Deutsche Bank Group and/or DWS companies in Singapore. The payroll team are responsible for the full spectrum of payroll processes, benefits administration, payroll-related accounts balance reconciliation, and various employment-related taxes and tax reporting.

Your key responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for expert support and service delivery for the Singapore payroll. Viewed as a payroll subject expert, you will have a key role leading the compliance, productivity and efficiency of the Singapore payroll

Payroll Processing:
  • Lead and manage the in-house Singapore Payroll team and ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees
  • Maintain day-to-day stable operations and responsible for the quality delivery of the Singapore payroll
  • Ownership of payroll processes, payroll reports and analytics / reconciliations and maintain proper records
  • Validate and reconcile payroll data processing including the calculation of wages, deductions, and payment of employees' wages
  • Supervise payroll accounting including the monthly postings and accruals
  • Ensures appropriate definition of payroll schedules, special processing planning and documentation of business and local requirements
  • Have a sound knowledge of benefits, equity reward programs and how they impact payroll
  • Manages service delivery metrics in relation to payroll
  • Improve operational effectiveness, standardizing activities to a high degree and maintaining relevant documentation

Compliance:
  • Comply with Deutsche Bank's internal policies and procedures and SOX requirements
  • Stay updated with local payroll laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements relevant to payroll matters
  • Perform necessary activities to comply with employer year-end tax reporting
  • Perform relevant leaver tax reporting and processing activities
  • Effectively lead all internal and external audit activities

Collaboration and Communications:
  • Actively engage and participate in global and regional projects / initiative with value accreditation to the client and to the organization
  • Create positive relationships with Finance, HRIT, HRBP's and other key functions to ensure holistic delivery of payroll outcomes
  • Manages payroll queries from employees, managers and HR teams in a timely, and professional manner
  • Interpret trends to anticipate problems, proactively communicate to stakeholders, escalate appropriately, make decisions and take actions to mitigate risks
  • Projects, System and Data Management:
  • Work closely with payroll vendors and HRIT teams to ensure payroll system are up to date and accurate
  • Support all internal and external integrations, investigate data feed issues and implement on-going reconciliation processes including testing and upgrades
  • Maintain and drive key relationships with internal and external vendors, ensuring payroll practices are clearly regulated with a high level of discipline

Your skills and experience:
  • This role requires at least 8 years of experience working on Singapore payroll
  • Requires 5 years or more managerial experience of the payroll function, with in-depth knowledge of the Singapore payroll regulatory and processing requirements
  • 5 years or more experience with a multi-national bank or financial services organization or vendor experience supporting bank or financial service companies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Good Excel, Word and PowerPoint; quick adaptability to systems, tools and processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill in judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems
  • Ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and effective communicator
  • Very strong attention to details, confidence to challenge and ask questions
  • Working knowledge of SAP payroll and Workday system
  • Experience in Account Reconciliation

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
