Role Overview

The Software & Application Manager will lead the design, development, and implementation of banking systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality and regulatory standards. The role requires overseeing multi-country financial systemprojects, managing development teams, monitoring progress, and resolving technical issues, with occasional hands-on development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development and implementation of banking systems, including core banking and payment applications.
• Manage system quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize business processes.
• Define, review, and streamline banking processes associated with system changes.
• Conduct operational and development reviews to identify improvements in system performance and efficiency.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee UAT, defect resolution, and user training.
• Serve as project lead or PMO for multi-country banking projects, including system upgrades and ISO20022 migration.
• Liaise with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Requirements

• Min. Diploma or Degree in any discipline
• Experience of 5-10 Years in Banking project/ industry.
• Must have consulting firm experience
• Extensive experience leading application development for banking systems, with multi-country project exposure.
• Strong programming and technical skills: Java, SQL, Unix/Linux, Oracle, JP1
• Good communication skill in both English and Japanese (Business-level proficiency as mandatory) to liaise with Japanese stakeholders and clients.
• Proven experience managing projects, teams, and stakeholders inlarge-scale financial system implementations.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamenvironment.
