Good to Have
- Design, develop, test, and maintain system-level software and utilities
- Work on operating system components, low-level services, and system APIs
- Optimize system performance, memory usage, and resource management
- Debug complex system issues, including kernel-level or low-level failures
- Develop and maintain batch jobs, scripts, and automation tools
- Ensure system security, stability, and compliance with standards
- Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and version migrations
- Prepare technical documentation and support operational teams
- Participate in system architecture reviews and technical decision-making
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience in C / C++ / Java / Python (system-level focus)
- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
- Knowledge of process management, memory management, file systems
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, etc.)
- Familiarity with system calls, APIs, and inter-process communication (IPC)
Systems & Tools
- Experience with system monitoring, logging, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, sockets)
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
- Exposure to containerization or virtualization (Docker, VM, etc.) is a plus
- Understanding of security hardening and access controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in systems programming or platform engineering
- Experience in enterprise, government, banking, or mission-critical systems is preferred
Good to Have
- Experience with real-time systems or high-availability environments
- Knowledge of middleware, schedulers, or job control systems
- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Prior experience supporting 24×7 production systems
