About Us

Cygnus Med is the Singapore-based R&D center of Furui Medical Science, a publicly listed global medical technology group focused on early-stage diagnosis. Positioned at the crossroads of clinical medicine, medical imaging, and computational science, we are building the next generation of intelligent tools that empower physicians to make faster, more accurate decisions.

At Cygnus, we blend the agility of a startup with the stability and scale of an international enterprise. As part of a high-impact, cross-disciplinary team, your work will translate directly into innovations that improve patient outcomes around the world.

Role Overview

We're looking for a mission-driven Software Engineer or AI Engineer with a strong foundation in computer vision to join our team in Singapore. At Cygnus Med, you'll help build real-time, AI-assisted tools that support surgeons treating venous disorders. This is a rare opportunity to work on live ultrasound data, translate research into product, and directly shape the future of intelligent surgical planning. If you're excited about applying deep tech to solve meaningful clinical problems - we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

For our current project, you'll help develop and deploy intelligent software tools that support vascular surgeons in assessing blood flow patterns and planning interventions. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing a real-time ultrasound video processing software based on software engineering best practice.
  • Applying computer vision and machine learning algorithms to detect key haemodynamic features (e.g., reflux points, venous flow direction).
  • Developing algorithms for 2D/3D anatomical reconstruction from ultrasound data.
  • Supporting integration of software into ultrasound machines/devices.
  • Collaborating with frontend engineers to ensure intuitive clinician-facing user interfaces.
  • Creating clear, well-structured design documentations that supports regulatory submissions and audits, ensuring design decisions align with healthcare software standards and quality requirements.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust software testing strategies, including automated testing, CI/CD automation, and deployment, to ensure high-quality code and reliable algorithms.
  • Designing and implementing scalable systems to automate MLOps/DevOps workflows.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Passionate about MedTech and want to build tools that impact real patients.
  • Proficient in Python and/or C++, with experience in deploying real-time or performance-sensitive applications.
  • Ability to analyse and preprocess data and rigorously evaluate algorithm performance for clinical applications to comprehensively understand solution limitations and drawbacks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Has hands-on experience in dealing with computer vision tasks, such as image segmentation, object detection and tracking, especially in medical imaging or video processing domains.
  • Has worked with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Ability to communicate well across technical and clinical domains to balance business objectives with user needs and technical feasibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, research-driven environment and adapt to evolving challenges.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based (GCP or AWS) or edge computing solutions, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Great to Have

  • Familiarity with vascular anatomy or haemodynamic concepts.
  • Experience on how to operate docker images in microservice architecture.
  • Experience with 3D modelling and visualization.
  • Understanding of medical device development standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304).

Location & Work Arrangement

This role is primarily based onsite at our office near Buona Vista, Singapore.

Application

To apply, lease send your CV and a brief note on why this space excites you to wangchenqiao@fu-rui.com .

We look forward to seeing how your skills and creativity can contribute to building impactful healthcare software.
