Job Responsibilities:

The Trust and Safety(TnS) engineering team is responsible for protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. With the continuous efforts of our trust and safety engineering team, TikTok can provide the best user experience and bring joy to everyone in the world. Our team is responsible for achieving goals by building content moderation process systems, rule engine, strategy systems, feature engine, moderation platforms, data platforms, risk insight systems and all kinds of supportive platforms across TnS organization.

Core Development

• Responsible for the architectural design, R&D, and performance optimization of the department's 100-billion-level log processing platform, ensuring efficient and stable operation of log collection, storage, and analysis.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code, promoting the implementation of engineering best practices.

Architecture & Technical Solutions

• Participate in system architecture design and key technology selection to optimize data processing performance and stability.
• Design efficient data storage, computing, and access solutions based on business needs to improve data platform availability and scalability.

Data Processing & Applications

• Design and implement batch and stream processing data pipelines (ETL/ELT), supporting access to multiple data sources.
• Drive the development of data warehouses, data lakes, and data products, ensuring data availability and consistency.

Technical Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with product, analytics, backend, and frontend teams to ensure the implementation of data application solutions.
• Assist in resolving complex technical issues within projects and provide technical advice to team members.

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• More than 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development, with at least 3 projects experience in projects processing 10+ billions of data points or petabytes of logs daily.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in mainstream data processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, Hive, Presto, Kafka, etc.) with 3+ years of production experience.
• Proven track record in designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data/log ingestion pipelines capable of 1M+ TPS sustained throughput.
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse, data lake, data modeling, and data governance, with ability to improve query performance by 50%+.
• Understanding of distributed system principles and performance tuning (deployments with 1,000+ compute nodes).

Soft Skills

• Capable of analyzing complex business scenarios and delivering solutions with less than 5% delivery delay.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data middle platform or data productization, serving 1,000+ end users.
• Experience in cloud-based data engineering (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Others cloud providers) with cross-region data transfer latency <100 ms.
• Experience in machine learning platforms or real-time data applications with millisecond-level delivery latency.
