The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan's leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Purpose of the Role

The IAM Lead plays a mission-critical role in shaping, executing, and evolving the enterprise Identity and Access Management strategy to protect organizational assets and support business enablement. This role is responsible for leading IAM operations, governance, and strategic initiatives, driving cross-functional alignment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and championing a Zero Trust security model. The IAM Lead provides thought leadership, manages end-to-end identity lifecycle processes, and ensures secure, seamless, and efficient access management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and execute the enterprise IAM roadmap in alignment with security objectives and business goals.

• Act as the subject matter expert (SME) and key decision-maker for all IAM-related matters across the organization.

• Lead IAM assessments, strategy development, and implementation of Zero Trust architecture principles.

Privileged Access Management (PAM):

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise PAM solutions.

• Oversee governance and controls for privileged access, ensuring strong security and compliance posture.

• Drive automation for privileged ID lifecycle, including onboarding, deprovisioning, and vaulting.

Identity Governance & Administration (IGA):

• Govern end-to-end identity lifecycle processes including provisioning, deprovisioning, certification, and access reviews.

• Lead role mining, RBAC framework development, and implementation of policy-based access controls.

• Own the customization and continuous improvement of IGA platforms, workflows, and integrations with cloud and on-prem systems.

Operations & Incident Management:

• Provide oversight for daily IAM operations including incident response, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring.

• Establish robust operational support models and SLAs for incident, problem, and service request management.

• Ensure resiliency, uptime, and recovery of IAM platforms.

Risk Management & Compliance:

• Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to support regulatory reviews, controls testing, and remediation efforts.

• Drive periodic access reviews, policy updates, and ensure adherence to IAM-related regulations (e.g., MAS, GDPR).

• Manage IAM-related risks, including SoD conflicts, access creep, and obsolete entitlements.

People and Vendor Management:

• Provide technical and leadership guidance to the IAM team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.

• Manage vendor relationships, evaluate new IAM solutions, and oversee implementation partners and product support.

Change & Transformation:

• Lead IAM program and change initiatives, from business case to delivery.

• Serve as IAM lead for change advisory boards (CABs), ensuring alignment with broader security and IT strategy.

Team

• Leads IAM professionals within the Cyber Fusion Centre.

• Works closely with infrastructure, cloud, application, HR, and compliance teams.

• Interfaces with external consultants and technology partners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IAM, including at least 3 years in a leadership or strategic role.

• Deep understanding of IAM and PAM technologies, IGA platforms, and related security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

• Proven success in designing and executing IAM strategies in complex enterprise environments.

• Hands-on experience with platforms like Saviynt, CyberArk, etc.

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including reporting to senior leadership.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, influence at all levels, and drive measurable results.
