To ensure the overall effective performance and Management of WHSmith Singapore Changi Airport
This role requires someone who is capable of understanding the business operations of the store as well as at the retail distribution level in a detailed analytical and hands on manner.
They will contribute to the effective inventory performance by ensuring that the overall inventory position is well managed with zero disruption to the business, including but not limited to stock outs, overstock, shrink, etc.
Key Duties:
• Ensure Company procedures are being adhered to particularly cash handling and security
• Evaluate current operational procedures and adherence to these
• Ensure dress and customer service standards are being maintained
• Meet time frames for reporting responsibilities
• Stock Control
• Provide support to the buying team to assist in driving sales in relation to correct stock level.
• Monitoring of the inventory position at the shop floor and warehouse and coordinate with Operation and Warehouse to ensure that a defined target ratio of stock holding between these 2 locations are achieved.
• Work closely with commercial, warehouse /logistic on purchase cycle expectations to ensure timely delivery of products from overseas and local vendors to warehouse, from warehouse to store and flag out potential issues to the respective department heads (Warehouse, Commercials, Operations)
• Analyse the inventory including promotional stock requirements and communicate to Commercial team to ensure that the quantities of on-hand are sufficient to meet demands.
• Ensure full compliance on the Safe & Legal across the business
• Overseeing the Warehouse Operations:
• Timely turnaround for Stock received
• Ensure proper Good Receiving process
• Stock rotation in place
• Ensure Data Entry accuracy and appropriate investigations for any mismatches.
• Ensure the warehouse is organised into pick locations and that these are adhered to.
• Ensure Stock Control Management process are in place in stores & Warehouse:
• Loss prevention
• Periodic Stock count schedule in place
• Maintain the New & Magazine Notional
• SDS
• Ensure the store stock rooms are organised effectively to prevent SDS issues.
• Ensure that effective replenishment models are in place, which include 100% compliance to the planograms.
• Provide guidance and direction for management and staff
• Be available (via phone contact or physical presence) to trouble shoot store management issues
• Various other tasks
Performance Indicators:
• Monthly sales results against budgets
• Monthly wages spending against budgets
• Compliance of Store Plannogram
• Accuracy of all Documentation proceses
• Staff turnover levels
• Quantity of trained Supervisors
• Store audit score
• CAG 8-star score
Specific Goals:
• Meet and exceed sales budgets

• Reduce the level of staff turnover

Hours of work:
• Opening shifts to ensure procedures followed.
• Closing shifts to ensure procedures followed.
• Weekends, public holidays, and vacation periods including Sunday close and/or morning opening.
• 24 hour call basis should operational issues arise.
