Position Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Business Analyst with 15+ years of experience in capital markets, including significant exposure to OTC derivatives regulatory reporting, to spearhead the transformation of fragmented legacy systems and manual processes into a next-generation, consolidated regulatory reporting ecosystem.

In this strategic role, you will work with senior business, compliance, operations, and technology stakeholders to define the target state, lead the due diligence and evaluation of external vendor solutions, and drive the successful implementation and integration of the chosen platform.

Your expertise will ensure the firm meets global and regional reporting obligations (EMIR Refit, CFTC Re-write, MAS, ASIC, MiFIR, SFTR, HKMA, etc.) efficiently and sustainably, while reducing operational risk and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Current-State Analysis & Target Operating Model:
  • Analyse existing regulatory reporting systems, workflows, controls, and data architecture.
  • Identify gaps, overlaps, and inefficiencies in the current-state landscape.
  • Define the strategic roadmap for system consolidation and process harmonisation.
• Vendor Due Diligence & Solution Evaluation:
  • Develop detailed business and functional requirements to evaluate third-party regulatory reporting platforms from functional perspective.
  • Coordinate and conduct vendor assessments, PoCs, and RFP/RFI processes.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, and IT security teams during due diligence.
  • Provide clear recommendations to senior management for vendor selection.
• End-to-End Project Delivery:
  • Drive solution design, data mapping, and integration plans with the chosen vendor.
  • Work with internal and external technology teams to ensure robust and secure integration.
  • Develop detailed business process documentation, workflows, and user stories.
  • Oversee functional and user acceptance testing to validate regulatory compliance and data accuracy.
  • Establish and execute cutover, migration, and parallel run plans to minimise transition risk.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the primary interface between business users, compliance, operations, and technology teams.
  • Lead workshops and working groups with senior stakeholders across front office, middle office, risk, legal, and compliance.
  • Provide regular project updates, risk logs, and decision points to executive sponsors.
• People Leadership & Best Practices:
  • Mentor junior business analysts
  • Champion best practices in business analysis, documentation, and governance.
  • Monitor evolving global trade reporting requirements and provide regulatory impact assessments.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 15+ years of total experience in capital markets, with strong expertise in OTC derivatives and trade lifecycle.
• Demonstrated delivery of large, complex regulatory reporting change programs (EMIR, CFTC, SFTR, MiFID II, MAS, ASIC, HKMA).
• Proven experience coordinating vendor solution evaluations, PoCs, and due diligence for regulatory reporting platforms (e.g., AxiomSL, RegTek, UnaVista, DTCC GTR).
• Deep understanding of trade data flows, static & reference data, reconciliations, and reporting exceptions management.
• Ability to map complex data flows across front-to-back systems and design robust controls.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory trade repositories and reporting validation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with target operating model design, process re-engineering, and controls enhancement.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills at all levels
• Comfortable working in an agile/hybrid delivery environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Experience with cloud-native regulatory reporting solutions and data lakes.
