Primary Objective

To lead and manage the operations of a global fleet of chartered LNG tankers, ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially optimized shipping activities. This includes oversight of post-fixture operations, performance monitoring, and strategic coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end post-fixture operations, including agency coordination, port and bunker procurement, heel management, insurance, settlements, demurrage, and ship-shore compatibility.
• Ensure operational excellence and compliance across the chartered LNG fleet in alignment with contractual and regulatory standards.

Performance & Commercial Oversight

• Lead fleet performance monitoring, reporting, and claims management processes.
• Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with commercial priorities.

Stakeholder & Team Management

• Manage relationships with vessel owners/operators, terminals, SEFE trading counterparties, and other key shipping stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal coordination with SEFE Group functions, including LNG Cargo Operations, Trading, Technical & Marine Assurance, and Settlements.

System & Process Management

• Oversee the effective use and continuous improvement of the Integrated Maritime Operations System (IMOS) and other operational tools (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
• Collaborate closely with global back-office teams to ensure seamless operational workflows.

Team Development & Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of shipping operators, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous learning.
• Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing across global teams.

Strategic Support

• Provide insights and operational input into strategic shipping decisions, chartering activities, and contract negotiations.
• Represent Shipping Operations in internal forums and cross-functional projects.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong commercial and analytical mindset with a proven ability to create operational value.
• Deep understanding of shipping operations and technology, with requirement for LNG Shipping experience with Steam, TFDE and MEGI Vessels aswell as FSRU Operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with IMOS, SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to operate under pressure in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams and time zones.

Experience

• Significant office-based experience in LNG or tanker Shipping Operations, preferably within a trading house or oil & gas major.
• Prior people management or team leadership experience is essential.
• Sea-going experience on tanker vessels is advantageous but not required.

Education

• Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, or a related field.
